Web Design

This section of the site displays the web work that I have done for various clients.

Stracuzzi Design

This is the site for the company I began working for in May of 2007. Stracuzzi Design specializes in several different areas such as web design, graphic, cad (computer aided design), and product development. The design team and I developed a look that was elegant, fashionable, and easy to navigate which would also match up to other design company sites.

High Oaks

This is a site project I did while freelancing at Stracuzzi Design. High Oaks is a nonprofit Christian Science organization which provides temporary need of financial assistance and helps with billings for care.

Laura Cheadle

Laura Cheadle is a funky, R&B, pop/rock artist from South Jersey. Her music is influenced by everyone from Aretha Franklin to Fiona Apple. She is a very good friend of mine and I've been doing her graphic and web material for about 3 years now.

EWI Philadelphia

This site was created while I interned at Bowhaus Design Groupe. It was a redesign of Executive Women International: Philadelphia Chapter. Bowhaus was commissioned to do the site and the project was given to me to design.

Art Sphere Incorporated

This site was my senior thesis for digital design. The goal was to find a real life client and create a large scale, free, digital project for said client. The client I chose was Art Sphere Incorporated, an organization devoted to bringing art programs to under privileged children in Philadelphia. Originally, I had wanted to do a re-design of the Art Sphere Incorporated site, because it is poorly designed and it did not comply with the message that ASI represented. Unfortunately, due to a great deal of miscommunication on the client side, and the fact that my position was abused, the project, as is, will not be going live.

Philadelphia University's Campus Activities Board

This site was not only the final for my advanced web design class, but it was meant to be the actual website for Philadelphia University's Campus Activities Board (CAB). However, due to the fact that no one on the board knew web design aside from me and no one could give me the correct information to make the site go live, the project went belly up. It sits on my server only for sentimental reasons at this point.

Old Layouts

< These are old layouts of tidalblue.net

Pinup Girls

Pinup Girls

This is the first layout I created for tidalblue.net. It is based on my love of pinup art. It featured various drawings by Alberto Vargas, the famous pinup artist. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

The Beach

The Beach

I admit, I was snooping around Hollister's website a bit when I was making this layout. That beachy, california style really inspired me. Plus when I made this, it had been raining quite a bit, it was not really summer. I really went all out with this one. I used a great deal of layers and brushes. It was not only an experiment but I was really trying to make something visually interesting. I kept this layout up for quite a long time. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

Miss You Love

Miss You Love<

This was a filler layout. I had a beautiful one planned, but life really got in the way and I was unable to finish it. This took me literally 10 minutes and I really didn't put too much effort into it. I like that color blue, but I think this layout is very boring. Click on thumbnail to launch larger version.

Simple + Clean

Simple + Clean

This layout was part of my senior portfolio site for school. We had to come up with an all around look and branding for ourselves. I chose that swirly shape as my branding. I kept this layout up for most of the end of the school year, but then I began to hate it. Eventually I realized it was far too basic for my tastes. I made a few filler layouts after this one that are not worth showing. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

Moderne

Moderne

This layout was inspired by an Elliott Smith cd cover. I wanted to do something totally simplistic and minimalist, seeing as how a lot of my layouts up until this were overkill and image heavy. I realize I have been using this css skeleton more than I should. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

Violator

Violator

I had been listening to a great deal of depeche mode when I came up with this layout. The music hit me in such a way that it brought forth a boost of creativity. The structure is pretty simple, but what I found to be the best part is the rose illustration. See here. It is also very simplistic, but I think it, and the layout, have a very serene beauty. November

November

This layout was inspired by the beautiful colors of autumn. It was really wishful thinking though. At the time I made this "autumn" was a foreign concept. There were 80 degree temperatures in October. With the leaves all shades of orange and red, and people running around in shorts and tshirts, there was quite a disconnect. I am really proud of my growing css knowlegde, which I think is showcased in this layout. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

Decembre

Decembre

This might be my most favorite layout ever. I spent about a month making the graphic for this. It was really en experimentation in layering and what I could pile on top of what. The graphic came out beautifully in my opinion. Click here to see a larger view of the graphic. I was really inspired by Anthropologie's website and aesthetic. I kept this layout up for a very long time because I loved it so much. I'm sad to see it go. Click on the thumbnail to launch larger version.

Early Spring

Early Spring

After a long cold winter, I wanted to do a layout that would be like a breath of fresh spring air. The desire to finally put away the sweaters and coats and break out the dresses and tshirts. Unfortunately, by the time I put this layout up, it was still pretty cold. My favorite part of this layout is the top graphic. Heavy layering and transparencies made a very unique effect.
